Black Economic Empowerment
Steeledale is a subsidiary of Aveng Limited, a company listed on the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa. The Group is 75% owned by Aveng and 25% by Qakazana Investment Holdings (Pty) Limited, a Black Empowerment Company. The Aveng Group led the way in the construction and steel industries by being the first significant group to conclude a high-level black economic empowerment transaction, resulting in 25% of its South African subsidiaries being owned by the Tiso led broad-based empowerment consortium.

Steeledale supports the concept of the balanced scorecard as outlined by the South African Government's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The Group participates in various forums and industry bodies in order to achieve a quantifiable and consistent definition covering all aspects of the balanced scorecard.

Steeledale conducted a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment verification and was awarded a LEVEL 4 recognition towards BEE. The score card was calculated according to the Construction Charter.
