Using IT to advance
Admin and production processes have seen positive change through forward-thinking utilization of technology. As early as 1998, sophisticated IT systems were introduced into most of the production facilities allowing efficient and controlled management of customers’ data. In the process, manual intervention has been reduced, along with the associated human error.
Increasing efficiency
The reinforcing bar bending schedules ordered are entered into the system and run through optimizing processes that facilitate downloading of the bar dimensions and other technical information directly to the machinery, this is done via a barcode driven scanner network, that downloads the data directly to the PLC’s that control the cutting and bending on the machinery. Each bar’s progress is traceable and forecasts can be made based on the production in planning. This allows up-to-the-minute information to be passed on to customers and also ensures that deliveries are on time.
